Trio ArTre

Il trio arTre è un ensemble italiano, oltre che anagraficamente, anche per il fatto di far “trasparire nelle sue esecuzioni - con le parole del musicologo Giacomo Fornari - le caratteristiche più spiccatamente legate alla maniera italiana del fare musica: individualità, fantasia, semplicità.”
Ogni componente del trio è un solista da tempo affermato, ma che ha sempre riservato alla musica da camera un'attenzione speciale.
Dopo molti anni di attività didattica svolta fianco a fianco (negli ultimi cinque anni i membri del trio hanno condotto insieme l'importante Festival Internazionale di Musica da Camera "Musical Passages" a Montefiore dell'Aso) è nata spontanea per il violinista Marcello Defant, il pianista Giacomo Battarino e il violoncellista Sebastiano Severi la voglia riunirsi e fondare il trio arTre.
Già acclamati in molte importanti realtà concertistiche in tutto il mondo (Italia –  Accademia di Santa Cecilia a Roma, Accademia Chigiana a Siena, MiTo festival e altri – Spagna, Francia, Turchia, Germania, Svezia, Stati Uniti, Messico, Cina, Russia) per le loro interpretazioni vive ed intense, sono regolarmente invitati dal 2010 a collaborare con la Università di Liverpool per concerti e Master.
A fianco della intensa attività concertistica dedicano le loro energie all'insegnamento, alla riscoperta di repertorio dimenticato, alla creazione e promozione di nuove musiche (nel loro repertorio, oltre al Trio op. 0 di Marcello Defant, ci sono brani di compositori viventi quali G. Spriano, Sergio Gianzini e altri artisti italiani contemporanei).
Nella primavera 2013 il trio arTre ha pubblicato il suo primo CD, con musiche inedite di Marco Anzoletti e Raffaello Lazzari, per l'etichetta Phoenix Classics.




The ArTre trio is an Italian ensemble. As such, it features, in the words of musicologist Giacomo Fornari, "the most typical Italian characteristics: individuality, fantasy, simplicity."
Each trio member has an established career of his own, with a particular propensity towards chamber music.
After many years spent teaching chamber music together - for the last five years they have been leading the Montefiore "Musical Passages" Chamber Music Festival - they finally decided to focus their musical activity together.
Throughout their regular presence in many renowned concert venues all over the world, they have been acclaimed for the vivid and intimate rendering of their performances: Italy (Accademia DI Santa Cecilia in Rome, Accademia Chigiana DI Siena, Mito festival and many more), Spain, France, Turkey, Germany, Sweden, United States, Mexico, China, Russia are some of the countries that have seen them as guest performers. Since 2010 they have been regularly invited every year to collaborate with the University of Liverpool for masters and concerts.
Together with this intense concert activity, they also dedicate their time and energy to teaching, rediscovering unknown repertoire, encouraging and performing new works and composing (the piano trio Op. 0 by Marcello Defant is in their repertoire as well as works by Giorgio Spriano, Sergio Gianzini and other contemporary Italian artists).
In 2013 they released with Phoenix Classics their first CD, with rediscovered late 19th century repertoire by Marco Anzoletti and Raffaello Lazzari.
